With the mercury rising into the 90’s and higher this summer, drinks made with the fresh fruits of summer are a fun way to cool off. Here are a few favorites to help you beat the scorching heat.

GRAPEFRUIT CUCUMBER MARGARITA

INGREDIENTS

1 ½ cups ruby red grapefruit juice
1 ½ cups tequila
1 ½ cups ice
1 can frozen limeade
¼ cup cucumber, peeled, seeded and chopped coarse
Lime wheels for garnish
Cocktail sugar for garnish
Fresh jalapeño, seeded and cut into rounds for garnish (optional)

STEPS

1.Combine all ingredients, except garnishes, in a blender, and pulse until smooth.
2.To serve, rub the rim of a margarita glass with a lime wedge and dip in cocktail sugar. Drop in one jalapeño round for a spicy kick if desired.
