A photo essay on the cultural diversity of Queens, New York.

Photo essay by Aehee Kang Asano.

Jackson Heights is considered to be one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York City and the nation. It is home to a large number of South Americans, particularly Argentineans, Ecuadorians and Colombians, as well as South Asians and East Asians. Yet despite having different cultural backgrounds, the moments of their life and multiple cultures are all combined and respected in the neighborhood. We all have a reason to “be” in New York. Crossing at the corner of one other’s lives, greeting each other, and sharing the moment.
