While your mind is surely still reeling from last week’s episode on Once Upon A Time when Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle), aka Mr. Gold, changed little Pinocchio back into August (don’t deny it, you were as stunned as we were to see Eion Bailey on your screen!), after Regina (Lana Parrilla) and Maleficent (Kristin Bauer van Straten) kidnapped him from Geppetto’s (Tony Amendola) workshop, it looks like the town of Storybrooke will be getting another unexpected reappearance tonight.

This time, Regina will be the one left speechless as she encounters Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) on a trek through the woods. How is that possible, you ask? After all, last time we saw him he was crossing the town line with his family in a heartbreaking moment that left the newly crowned hero in tears and wondering if she would ever get her happy ending, given that once you leave, there’s no coming back (although, lately we are learning that this is proving to be somewhat conditional). While the circumstances of his return are still unknown, we can’t help but wonder if this isn’t one of Rumple’s tricks in testing Regina’s alliance. Let’s not forget that he did turn into Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) in the last episode. And so, this could very well be just that — a simple act of villainous deceit to get to the truth of the matter. Of course, it could also be that Robin is truly back and that love conquers all. But what will that mean for Regina’s plan in working undercover? Will she bow out? And has Robin left his family? This seems rather peculiar seeing as how much his son meant to him. Why would he leave with Marian (Christie Laing) and his son only to return without either one of them? Have they somehow managed to come back, too?

Watch the sneak peek below, and tune in tonight to see whether or not this is another one of Rumple’s tricks, as well as to learn what we can expect now that August is back. Will he be around to stay, or will he fall victim to the Dark One and the Queens of Darkness? Will he turn back into wood like in the past seasons? Or will Regina be able to return him unfazed and unharmed as a “real boy?” Sound off on all these questions and more in the comments below and tell us what you think!
